Okcupid Scammer Reddit
This story, which is claimed to be true by the comedian reading it word-for0word off his phone, is the perfect marriage of what happens when scammers scam and trolls troll. We’re talking real, fairytale shit here, friends.
Okcupid Scammer Reddit Videos
Comedian Mike Bobrinskoy is not the first person on earth to be approached by a scammer online. He may well be the best at wasting a scammer’s time, but he isn’t the first. I know that because, like you, I’ve also been contacted by kings and princes of countries I couldn’t point out to you on a map. But unlike all the emails I’ve received, his scam came on OKCupid.
So what is it, reddit? Are the OKCupid scammers getting more sophisticated? Am I going to get hit up for a credit card number in a few more days? Or am I just being paranoid? This thread is archived.
- A copy of the dating site scam guide being sold on the Crypto Market deep web site Crypto Market The document, titled Adhrann's Updated Dating Scam 2014, lays out a method for creating fake dating.
- 5 points 7 years ago. This is a known Phisher tactic. If you recieve any comments asking you to go to yahoo/skype/text/any other fucking website in the goddamn universe in the first messages and the pics are too good to be true.
Quite honestly, I didn’t even know scammers finally moved on from sending woe-is-me emails. I’m glad to see they did. Throwing their hats in the dating website/app ring might just be the perfect strategic move. Instead of sending out thousands, even millions, of emails hoping to find a few pathetic suckers, you take your ball and bring your game to a court where a lot of people will do very stupid shit all in the name of love. Or, what they think in their fragile little brain is love.
That said, just bringing your game to a new venue doesn’t mean automatic success. You still have to try to coax the money out of your victim’s bank account and into your pocket. That’s what a girl on OKCupid tried to do to Mike Bobrinskoy. But Mike wasn’t having any of that shit.

When someone sends you an introduction (a first message), it will be added to your Intros tab. If you Like the profile, then the introduction will move to your conversations page.
Your Conversations page will show all of the conversations with people you've Liked.
If you're not seeing a particular intro you were notified about, one of the following might be the case:
- You may have blocked the other person
- The other person may have blocked you
- The other person may have deleted their account
- The other person may be in a moderation hold
- The other person may have been banned
For privacy reasons, we cannot tell you which of these will be the case.

You can double check your Blocked list on the privacy settings page of the full website or on the app (tap on your profile, then on Account Settings. From there, tap Privacy, then Blocked and Unmatched). If the person is not there, and you're not seeing the conversation, it does mean one of the other options has happened. For privacy reasons, we generally can't clarify which of the options it was.
Sometimes we put messages on hold while our admins review profiles/messages to make sure that they're being sent from a legitimate human account. We take the safety of our members very seriously and do a lot of moderation to weed out fake/scammer accounts, but unfortunately that means that real messages get caught in our filter nets as well occasionally. When that happens, we release the messages as soon as our team determines they're legitimate; at that point. If our team does not determine that the profile/messages are legitimate, we do ban the account.
